The Wood Foundation

The Wood Foundation Centre for Science and Technology

In 2014 The Wood Foundation donated £2.25milion to the Robert Gordon's College in Aberdeen for their new teaching facility named The Wood Foundation Centre for Science and Technology.

The centre will be the largest STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) teaching facility of its kind in the UK and one of the most significant developments in the history of RGC.

The centre has been built to offer state of the art facilities within the science and technology departments of Robert Gordon's College to ensure future generations are the best they can be academically within the STEM subjects. Over the past five years RGC has sent over 300 pupils to universities to study Science, Medicine or Engineering; subjects that are important in Aberdeen, particularly as new industries are sought to replace the importance of North Sea oil over time.

The Centre will provide 34 new labratories and workshops designed to deliver best practice in learning and teaching, to enhance RGC's current strengths in research, experimental work and inter-disciplinary technological design.
